Kvitbrakka AiR is calling for applications from artists who want to engage with the local community for their four-to-six-week residency in Berlevåg, Norway.
Located on the northern tip of Norway, since 2012 Kvitbrakka has welcomed more than 50 international artists, writers, musicians and guests. Over the years the residency has been gradually developing with increasing interest and support from national institutions and regional partners to become an important cultural reference for the Nordic region.
The community in the north is looking for artists who want to immerse themselves in the landscape and the cultural heritage of the Arctic. The region is known for its dramatic landscapes, midnight sun, the Northern Lights and the Sami heritage. With a population of just over 880 inhabitants, Berlevåg is particularly known for its nature, fishing industry and cultural life.
The periods are 1 February to 31 May or 1 September to 30 November 2025.
They are looking for artists from all backgrounds, including visual artists, writers, musicians and others. They are also looking for those who will engage the local community through workshops, exhibitions and presentations.
The residency includes accommodation, studio space and a travel grant of 7,000 NOK.
