The Kranj Foto Fest has announced its open call for exhibitions 2023 on the theme of HUMAN — NATURE. They seek visually powerful and thought-provoking stories that showcase the relationship between humanity and the environment.
Submissions can include documentary photography, fine art photography, and any other form of contemporary photography that explores the theme in a meaningful and impactful way.
The jury will select one winner who will receive a 1000 EUR cash prize and have a solo exhibition in Kranj, Slovenia, at the programme of Kranj Foto Fest 2023 (from 23 August – 23 September 2023). The prize includes travel expenses of up to 400 EUR and lodging for 4 nights (from 23-27 August 2023) in Kranj during the Festival’s opening week. A number of photographers will be shortlisted for group exhibitions all around the picturesque alpine town of Kranj.
For a whole month, at the warm height of European summer, the old town of Kranj will once again be transformed into an exciting hub of contemporary photography bringing together emerging and established photographers from all over the world. The city becomes an open-air gallery with photo exhibitions happening in the streets, at historic landmarks, in art centres, galleries, forests and by the river.
