Kaunas Photography Gallery is pleased to announce an open call for its 2021 residency programme. Photographers and artists, curators, critics and art historians who work with photography are invited to apply. A number of residencies are available. These usually last from 4 to 9 weeks and are held within the period 1 March–20 December. Applicants can be of any nationality but must be based in Nordic–Baltic countries other than Lithuania (Denmark, Finland, the Faroe Islands, Greenland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Åland, Latvia and Estonia).
Kaunas Photography Gallery are looking for candidates with an original approach, one which displays an attentiveness and sensitivity to Kaunas’s identity and culture, and its environmental characteristics.
Kaunas Photography Gallery will cover travel expenses and provide accommodation in an apartment or guest house in Kaunas city centre, a per diem, and a €425 scholarship. Basic materials and equipment can also be provided.
Successful applicants are expected to give at least one informal public audio-visual presentation about their work and/or take part in some other kind of event during the residency.
