This year Hållnäs konstkoloni continues their collaboration with sister residency DAR (Druskininkai Artists’ Residence), which since 2012 has seen over one hundred composers and sound artists from Lithuania and other countries participating in its residencies.
The duration of the Lithuanian residency is 14 days, September 1 – 14, and takes place in the picturesque resort town of Druskininkai, Lithuania. The Artist in Residence will receive a €400 one-time scholarship and covered travel expenses (up to €200). The artist is expected to present their work at the end of the stay.
Druskininkai is a resort town in southern Lithuania, surrounded by forests, lakes and parks, about 130 km south of Vilnius. The town hosts a lot of health centers and mineral waters and mud treatment institutions operating all year round.
The DAR guest house, in a pine forest, has wireless internet, a kitchen and musical instruments (cabinet pianofortes and pianos). The houses are cozy and comfortable for work and relaxation.
The resident artist will be given free accommodation and studio space, as well as administrative and tutorial assistance. The artist should take care of their own health insurance. There is space to host a collaboration of two persons, however note that travel grant and scholarship would then need to be shared.
