In the frame of the International Emergency Fund for Lebanon, the French Ministry of Culture has assigned Fanak Fund with the task of starting and administering an emergency fund for artists / cultural activists in exile / refugees in Lebanon. This fund is called Shararat Amal (‘Glimmer of Hope’).
Shararat Amal is dedicated solely to individuals and organisations/collectives in exile / refugees in Lebanon. This fund intends to reactivate the professional activities of the applicants by either providing them with a support allowance, or a grant covering their professional needs. It is not a humanitarian initiative.
The duration of this allowance will be calculated on the basis of 180 days (6 months), renewable once by way of a second application for which the deadline will be announced in due course.
The daily allowance provided for individuals does not require justification of expenses by way of invoices. It will be calculated as between 360 to 600 euros per month (according to the family situation of the applicant), for a maximum of 6 months.
The allowance for organisations will be decided based on an estimate provided by the applicant organisation, describing the nature of related expenses. The allocated amount for organisations will be paid in one lump sum and will not exceed 3000 euros for a duration of 6 months (with a possible 6 month extension).
