In its short existence, the Portuguese festival Semibreve has built a formidable reputation for being one of the most exciting annual events on the international exploratory music and digital arts calendar. In previous editions, Semibreve has presented unique collaborations by some of the most revered electronic music artists from around the word as well as presenting a programme of new work produced in the digital art’s field.
The 12th edition, will feature once again the Semibreve Award sponsored by Edigma a Portuguese company leader in the development of interactive experiences, multi-touch technology and digital signage projects.
This award is established to celebrate and promote the creation of works that explore interactivity, sound and image supported through the use of digital technologies. The winner will have the work exhibited during the next edition of the Semibreve festival in Portugal from 27-30 October 2022.
The submission of entries is open to all works exploring the relation between art and technology, presented in the form of installation. The competition is open to individuals, professionals, companies, educational/training entities, public entities, non-profit organisations, living in Portugal and abroad. Entries should refer to work produced between 2019 and 2022.
The Semibreve Award winner will be granted 2500 Euros, travel and transport of material expenses to and from the Semibreve Festival up to 500 Euros (five hundred euros) plus lodging during the stay (half board), all supported by the award sponsor Edigma.
