The Cross-cultural Digital Exchange and Research Residency project is looking for emerging artists, researchers and/or curators from Nigeria and the Netherlands. The project aims to cultivate a vibrant community of creatives, building bridges and connections between artists from both countries which might lead to future collaborations and joint artistic and cultural project developments.
The digital exchange and residency will be operated remotely, fully on a digital platform (Zoom). Communication will be in English. It will run 6 September – 11 October 2023, with weekly online meet-ups (6 in total).
This call is open to all creatives with a maximum of 6 years’ experience. The organisers particularly encourage persons living with disability, marginalised groups, underserved communities, various levels of education, etc. They will select 5 Dutch and 5 Nigerian participants whose practice and work will be enhanced by cross-cultural exchange, project development, research and networking. Artists and creatives who are not citizens but live in either Nigeria or The Netherlands and whose artistic and creative practices engage in these countries are also invited to apply.
Participation is free and there will be a modest stipend of 225 EUR for all participants.
