Aveiro invites six artists from the CreArt Network to be part of an artist’s encounter that will take place 21 to 23 March 2025 in Aveiro, Portugal. The artistic director of the festival will select four artists from the CreArt 3.0 Cities and two from Aveiro region.
Aveiro will receive 6 artists to work on visual arts (painting, sculpture, photography, mix media installations) and performances (music, dance, theatre). The works will be presented in several venues in the City of Aveiro.
During the encounter the artists will have a diversified cultural programme, to promote networking and the sharing of artistic experience. Aveiro will provide an artistic director to guide the artists, as well as to introduce them in the local artist’s community.
The call is open to local artists – born, resident and or domiciled in any of the cities that participate in ‘CreArt 3.0. Network of Cities for Artistic Creation: Aveiro [Portugal], Ceske Budejovice [Czech Republic], Kaunas [Lithuania], Liepaja [Latvia], Lublin [Poland], Oulu [Finland], Regensburg [Germany],Rouen and Clermont-Ferrand [France], Skopje [Northern Macedonia], Valladolid [Spain], Venice [Italy], members of Croatian Association of Visual Artists [HDLU]and Ukrainian artists thanks to cooperation with the Lviv Art Council ‘Dialog’.
The organisation will cover accommodation, travel expenses to Aveiro (up to 500 EUR) for the artists coming from CreArt Cities. Aveiro also cover the production costs and will pay a grant of 500 EUR for subsistence and other expenses.
