Between Bridges has announced the open call for the next residency for visual artists, which will take place from July to December 2025 in Berlin, Germany, consisting of a working phase and a one-month exhibition or public presentation. The residency also offers the opportunity for studio visits with art professionals from the network of Between Bridges.
Between Bridges is a foundation (est. 2017 by Wolfgang Tillmans) committed to humanism, solidarity, and the advancement of democracy. It supports the arts, LGBTQ+ rights and anti-racism work.
The residency is suitable for professional individual visual artists, artist duos or small groups working collaboratively. One or more visual artists will be supported, though artists enrolled at a university at the time of application are not eligible to apply (excluding artists enrolled in PhD programmes). The criterion for awarding the residency is primarily the quality of the application and work submitted.
The residency includes the use of the facilities at Keithstraße 15 in Berlin Schöneberg on the ground floor of a residential building, with Wittenbergplatz subway station located nearby. In addition to two work and exhibition spaces, the facilities with a total size of 100 square meters include a workshop/storage, office, small kitchen and bathroom. The rooms are unfortunately not yet wheelchair accessible or suitable for living. The residency includes a monthly stipend of 1,500 EUR. For the exhibition, a production budget will be granted.
