The aim is to engage audiences with an uncompromising exhibition and learning programme. To succeed in this role, it is important to build and maintain relationships and networks in the field of contemporary art in Norway and internationally.
Bergen Kunsthall is seeking a director with strong leadership skills and documented curatorial experience within the field of contemporary art. The successful candidate must have a proven track record working with strategy and organisational development and possess a basic understanding of finance and can secure funding from both private and public sources. The new director will play a key role in maintaining a sustainable economy for Bergen Kunsthall.
In the day-to-day work, the director will lead highly competent, interdisciplinary, and creative staff, all of whom are passionate about delivering art and cultural experiences to an engaged audience. An essential part of the job is to maximise the potential of each employee.
The ideal candidate is motivated to represent and present Bergen Kunsthall, and they will be capable of, or interested in learning to communicate effectively in a Scandinavian language as well as in English.
The Director position is a fixed-term position for 5 years.
