Basca Theatre in Timișoara is looking for theater artists to participate in a sustainable theater workshop in Budapest 23–27 January 2025, within the international cultural project ‘Theater in 1 car’, in partnership with the Independent Theatre of Hungary and Mikser Theatre of Serbia.
The international cultural project ‘Theater in 1 car’, co-financed by the EU, aims to support artists to create and produce sustainable (environmentally friendly and cost-efficient) theater performances in which two actors play multiple roles, fit into one car and tell stories that reflect the values of local communities.
Basca Theatre invites theater artists from EU member countries and Serbia interested in social, environmental and rural community issues to apply with their own performance idea to the five-day workshop in Budapest.
Applicants must have the capacity to implement their planned performance, together with subsequent activities by 31 July 2025, and can apply in groups of artists (consisting of 2–3 people). The project has the capacity to fund the implementation of the selected performances.
The partners will cover the travel, accommodation and catering for all participants of the workshop and the in:vzbl theater festival in Timișoara (the latter of which will be held in the second half of 2025). Additionally, the project can support the implementation of at least four different performances and follow-up activities, three of them will be the performances of the partner organisations and at least one external performance will be financed up to 10,000 EUR (covering direct expenses of the creation).
