Baltic Circle International Theatre Festival is looking for a project producer for a four-year project, Coming Stage, funded by the Kone Foundation. The job will start in the autumn 2021 aiming at the next Baltic Circle Festival in Helsinki on 19-27 November 2021.
Coming Stage is a project that will make the art field during and after the pandemic more diverse and festival production more sustainable. Spanning four years, it offers a working residency for three performing arts working groups and two productions in the festival programme for each group. The festival offers support for production, communication and content work. Coming Stage is aimed at practitioners who question norms related to, for example, body, ability, language or experience and need a more open space for their practice.
The main responsibilities of the producer include coordinating the project independently and cooperating closely with the three working groups within the project. The suitable applicant will have previous experience in production work, fluent English language skills, precision and good social skills. Knowledge of the Finnish language is not required.
The producer works as part of the Baltic Circle team, which includes the artistic director, managing director, production manager and communications manager, and every autumn the team will grow with several festival workers. The team works both in the Baltic Circle office in Töölö, Helsinki, and remotely.
The salary is 2600 EUR per month. The producer works year-round, but the workload focuses on the fall. The annual workload estimates are:
- Autumn 2021: 1.5 months
- 2022: 4 months
- 2023: 4 months
- 2024: 2 months
