ORTE Architekturnetzwerk Niederösterreich > Residency Scholarship for Artists Focusing on Architecture (Austria)
Each year the Austrian organisation ORTE Architekturnetzwerk Niederösterreich grants a studio apartment in Krems, as well as a scholarship financed by the Federal Province of Lower Austria, to artists focusing their work on architecture. ORTE is dedicated to contemporary architecture education and architecture-related cultural issues in Lower Austria and is interested in practice-related projects. They are looking for concepts that focus on living environments and local interaction, and are less interested in purely theoretical and scientific work or projects that address international phenomena not directly or clearly related to Lower Austria. The scholarship is linked to a final presentation of the on-site created work.
The organisers provide a studio, as well as a living space free of charge. The selective duration of the stay is currently one to three months. Scholarship recipients will also be given a stipend of 1300 EUR per month; travel costs will not be refunded. ORTE provides you with opportunities to network with relevant elements of the Austrian cultural scene and possibly even to present your work to a broad audience.
In order to apply for an AIR scholarship in architecture, applicants must have completed their studies in a field such as architecture, urban development, urban planning, spatial planning, landscape planning, etc. Austrian citizens and/or residents of Austria are excluded from the programme. German or English are assumed as languages of communication. Any translation costs for presentations and communication during the stay in Krems will not be provided.
Deadline: 30 May 2020
