1646 Residency for Artists and Curators (Netherlands)
1646, a project-space for contemporary art, is offering a residency for international artists and curators to stay and work/research at their venue in the centre of The Hague, Netherlands.
The 1646 residency aims to support innovative practices, develop global networks, and engage the local art community in The Netherlands.
The residency period is at the end of the year, running from September to December 2020. Exact dates and duration will be decided by the applicants in conversation with 1646, but residencies are a maximum of two months. Children or partners can accompany the artist. The residency at 1646 is focused on providing a space for research/work/reflection, while getting familiar with the context of The Hague and The Netherlands. There is no exhibition connected to the residency, though a public event will conclude the residency period – the form of which can be worked out in conversation with 1646.
Studio space of 5m x 3m inside their venue.
Accommodation: a studio apartment near the gallery with private cooking facilities, internet and shared toilet and shower.
1500 EUR incl. VAT artist/Curator fee. (This must cover travel costs, which are not provided separately.)
1000 EUR incl. VAT production budget.
