MOST > Balkan Music Export Programme for Artists, Events and Professionals
MOST is a project that aims to boost the music market of the Balkans by connecting and supporting actors of the world music scene – artists, managers, festivals and institutions.
It currently has four open calls related to four different support streams:
Balkan Music Export: Aims to jump-start the international career of artists with a programme of activities including training and marketing support, a mentorship programme, and resources to attend international festivals and showcases.
Festival Exchange: Connects 10 world music festivals from the Balkans with 10 world music festivals from the rest of Europe through artist exchange, communication support, and mutual co-curation efforts. Participants will benefit from networking opportunities, training and one-to-one mentorship as they work on their cooperation activities.
Urban Policies: Aims to boost cooperation in cities between policymakers and urban creatives by creating tandem pairings of urban creatives and policymakers. Following a training and mentoring programme the pairs will receive support to develop and implement projects that connect the creative sector and urban communities.
Management Training: Training for booking agents, artist managers, promoters, venue or festival curators, label managers, and facilitators. The programme includes fellowships and a one-on-one mentorship programme linking 10 selected participants to the most prominent organisations of the world music scene.
Terms vary by programme, but all streams offer financial support for travel as well as some other costs. Activities take place across 2020-2021. The programmes are open to applicants from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Romania and Serbia.
Deadline (Festival Exchange): 12 March 2020
Deadline (all other streams): 15 April 2020
