MOVIN’UP Support Programme for the Mobility of Italian Artists in the World
The partnership between the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism – General Directorate for Performance and GAI – Association for the Circuit of Young Italian Artists along with GA/ER – Association Young Artists of the Emilia Romagna and Teatro Pubblico Pugliese – Apulia Region, is supporting the mobility of emerging Italian artists in the world through the 2020 edition of the programme Movin'Up dedicated to the Performing Arts.
Movin'Up Spettacolo-Performing Arts is a competition addressed to young Italian creatives between 18 and 35 years of age who work with professional goals and who have been hosted or invited officially abroad by cultural institutions, festivals, public and private institutions through competitions, residencies, seminars, workshops, internships or similar initiatives, or who have projects that are productions and/or co-productions with centres or foreign institutions.
The artistic fields allowed in the 2020 call for applications are: music, theatre, dance, circus arts.
Movin'Up is an established programme that focuses on:
Promoting the work of Italian artists in an international context through real opportunities for visibility and representation of their activities.
Supporting the production of projects that are more interesting from the point of view of innovation and interdisciplinary focus, giving a boost to the circuitry of national artistic research in the world.
Encouraging the participation of young creatives in qualified training programmes, workshops, internships organised by foreign institutions that offer real opportunities for artistic and professional growth.
The initiative, created through the distribution of an annual fund, allows artists to apply for a coverage of an international artistic mobility experience. The Movin'Up grant covers – totally or partially - the costs for the realisation of the project abroad.
In this edition, the programme has two sub-actions aimed at encouraging the candidacies of artists according to specific criteria, with a budget for dedicated awards: 1) territorial belonging of the artists – focus Emilia Romagna; 2) geographical development of international projects – focus Adriatic Ionian Euroregion.
Applications should be for artistic activities abroad taking place between 1 July 2019 and 30 June 2020 (retroactive applications are accepted).
