Center for Contemporary Art Kitakyushu > Fellowship Programme for Young Artists and Researchers (Japan)
The Center for Contemporary Art Kitakyushu, a world centre for study and research in contemporary art based in southwest Japan, operates a Fellowship Programme for young artists and researchers (up to the age of 40) working in art, curatorial work, design or architecture.
The Fellowship Programme for 2020/21 runs from September 2020 to the end of March 2021, accepting fellows in the fields of art, curatorial work, architecture and design. Each fellow is required to stay and work in Kitakyushu for a few months either consecutively or intermittently during the stated time period. At the end of the programme, fellows are required to present the results of their project in a form such as a report or exhibition, with guidance from the directors.
The fellowship covers:
A return air fare (economy) from your home country to Kitakyushu according to CCA terms.
A scholarship of JPY 200,000 (~1650 EUR), offered by CCA Scholarship Committee.
- Living expenses in Kitakyushu of approximately JPY 60,000 – JPY 100,000 per month (~500-830 EUR) including the apartment, utilities and daily expenses. CCA will help you find your apartment in the city after being accepted as a fellow.
