Indonesian Arts and Scholarship Programme 2020
The Indonesian Arts and Culture Scholarship (IACS) programme has been conducted since 2003 and was initially offered to and participated in by member countries of the Southwest Pacific Dialogue (SwPD).
Over the years the scholarship has been expanded to include member countries from other regions in the world. In the period 2003 - 2019, the scholarship has been awarded to 920 alumni from 77 countries.
The programme, which is not a degree programme, will last for three months, running 2 May – 15 August 2020. During the programme, awardees will be evenly divided into six groups, with each group will placed by the organising committee at a different art centre located in one of six provinces: Bali, West Sumatra, East Kalimantan, East Java, South Sulawesi, and Yogyakarta.
Awardees will live within or close to the arts centre, giving them the chance to experience local heritage and interact with the local community. All awardees will also perform in the art and cultural night ‘Indonesian Channel’ to mark the closing of the scholarship programme.
The scholarship will cover:
Tuition fee (including extra-curricular activities).
A round trip economy class ticket.
Accommodation (board and lodging).
Local transportation during the programme.
Health insurance (limited). All awardees are advised to have their own health insurance.
Monthly allowance of Rp. 2,000,000 (~130 EUR).
Candidates should be between the ages of 21 to 27 years old, with at least a high school diploma. Arts students or those with an academic history in Indonesian culture are particularly encouraged to apply.
Eligible Regions: member countries of ASEAN, ASEAN+3, East Asia Summit, ASEAN Dialog Partners, ASEAN + European Union, Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation, Asia-Europe Meeting, Africa Region, Melanesian Spearhead Group, and members of South West Pacific Dialog.
