Arta Azi is calling for applications for their one month international residency programme in Hîrtop village, Republic of Moldova, from May to August 2024.
Arta Azi, Center of cultural projects, is a non-profit women led cultural organisation, founded in 2015. The Association has as main goals the development and promotion of contemporary art and culture in rural and marginalised areas, as well the growth of social responsibility by developing and sustaining alternative art forms, stimulating and promoting the non-formal education and supporting the involvement of youth in social and cultural activities.
The call is open for artists, activists, environmentalists, philosophers, journalists and more, from Caucasus region and Central Asia, with a focus on environmental topics.
The programme will offer a one-month residency for three people, selected through an open call, to participate in a collaborative community-based residency and to produce at least one public activity in the Hîrtop village (artist talk, exhibition, workshop, presentation, etc.)
Hîrtop its a former german village, situated in southern part of the country in Cimișlia district (Republic of Moldova). The residents will stay in individual old houses on the ground, with a kitchen, bathroom and sleeping area. As a working space, there are available spaces at the local culture house, which is very well equipped with audio and video equipment.
The residency offers a grant of 500 EUR to cover subsistence costs, as well as 100 EUR production costs. The host covers the travel expenses and accommodation costs.
