    Flanders Arts Institute is calling for proposals for projects that can improve diversity in the arts field in Flanders and Brussels. Artistic projects are not supported, but otherwise a wide range of initiatives from tools to knowledge networks can be proposed, and by applicants around the world.

  • News / Granada UNESCO City of Literature: Writers Residence Programme (Spain)

    The Granada Writers in Residence Programme is targeted at emerging writers, residing in any country in whichever language they write. It offers a month’s stay (30 nights) in Granada for two writers, between 2 November and 1 December 2021. The writers in residence will be expected to participate in activities related to the local literary system, as proposed by the programme’s organisers.

  • News / CreArt: Call for Interventions for Ephemera Phestival (Spain)

    Ephemera Phestival will take place 17-26 September 2021 with different ephemeral artistic interventions appearing in the public space of Valladolid. Projects can be presented individually or collectively. Applications are open to artists from Valladolid or cities of the CreArt network: Genoa and Lecce – IT; Liverpool – UK; Clermont - Ferrand and Rouen – FR; Member of HDLU, Zagreb – HR; Kaunas – LT; Lublin and Katowice – PL; Aveiro – PT; Skopje – MK.

  • News / Production Research Grants for Art-Science-Technology Projects (Spain)

    The Institut Ramon Llull, New Art Foundation, Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC), La Caldera and Hangar open a call for five grants for the production-research of artistic pieces in the field of the confluence between art, science and technology. The development of the projects will have the means, advice and workspace of the Hangar Interaction Lab in Barcelona, Spain. The development of the projects will have, optionally, a residency process and/or advice in one of the research centers attached to the call through Hac Te. Artists, researchers and developers of any age and nationality can apply for these grants. Dates for activities vary but take place within 2021.

  • News / Who Cares? Open Call Residency Habitación (Spain)

    In the framework of the European project Who Cares?, Centro Huarte is offering an international residency programme for two or more artists, taking place from 1 September to 24 October 2021. Projects are encouraged to investigate care and affective practices in relation to the current moment we are living through. Applicants should have an EU passport or be based in an EU member state and preferably be fluent in the local languages (Spanish and/or Basque).

  • News / FotoLimo: Call for Residency Programme ‘Constellations Intermediterranean Gazes’ (France, Spain)

    Constellations Intermediterranean Gazes will select two young artists to develop a project on the theme of migration and borders in the Mediterranean context. They will undertake two one-month residencies at Lumière d'Encre and Es Far Cultural, located in Ceret (Occitania) and Es Mercadal (Menorca), in the spring-summer period of 2021. Their work will later be shown at the Fotolimo Festival before forming a travelling exhibition.

    The residences at Konvent have the goal of becoming a platform to aid artists and creators by providing the adequate conditions of space and concentration required for investigation in a unique environment such is the Cal Rosal textile colony. Konvent has an International open call for creators with no restrictions of age, origin nor discipline and that are interested in undertaking a research or creation project at Konvent.

  • News / ÆFLUENTS: Production and Investigation Residency (Euroregion Pyrenees Méditerranée)

    ÆFLUENTS is a project powered by the Euroregion Pyrenees Mediterranee and led by the Association of Integral Management of Sociocultural Services Idea (Idea Cultural Association) (Catalonia), and counts with the cooperation of cultural organisations such as the Centre for Investigation and Contemporary Culture Casa Planas (Balearic Isles), RZM collective (Catalonia) and Slash Culture (Occitanie). Gender and place of origin are indifferent, but the applicant must be resident in Catalonia, the Balearic Islands or Occitanie. Deadline: 21 March 2021.

  • News / Carmen Mateu Young Artist European Award for Opera Composers (Spain)

    The Carmen Mateu Young Artist European Award was created in memory of Carmen Mateu, and celebrates the careers of young artists in the disciplines of Opera and Dance. For 2021, the Award is targeted at composers will commission a pocket opera to premiere at the 2023 edition of the Festival Castell de Peralada in Spain. Candidates must be no more than 36 years old on the date of application and either posses nationality of a European country or be resident and pursuing their career in Europe.

  • News / SAC International Curatorial Residency Programme 2021

    The SAC International Curatorial Residency Programme 2021 will select an international curator to be part of the Miquel Casablancas Prize for the Visual Arts’ jury in 2021, and later develop a curatorial project with a selection of Catalan artists chosen from applicants to the prize. The project will be presented at the country of residence of the curator or in another international venue that they choose.

    Tele-Encounters is an artistic research project aiming to explore family relationships within the context of migration and to contribute to the development of telepresence (technologically mediated presence) as an artistic idiom. The organisers are currently looking for early-career 3D modelling and animation artists under the age of 30 to join the project, with activities spread from February-September 2021. Applicants should be based in Romania, Spain, or Italy.

    Los Goethe-Institut de Sudamérica apoyarán cuatro propuestas de proyectos que experimenten con nuevos procesos creativos de intercambio a distancia. El foco estará puesto en el proceso creativo conjunto más que en los contenidos concretos del intercambio. Un objetivo de la iniciativa es la ampliación de los conocimientos sobre los procesos creativos a distancia, por eso un aspecto central será la documentación del intercambio, para que los conocimientos puedan transferirse a otros contextos. Además, los participantes de los cuatro proyectos estarán conectados entre sí.
