Developed by Nancy Jazz Pulsations, Nancy Jazz Up! Europe is the first professional convention dedicated to artists and professionals who make and support the new wave of jazz that has emerged in recent years, catalysed in England and now spread throughout Europe – an ‘up tempo’ jazz that mixes jazz harmonies with sounds and rhythms from current music (hip hop, electronic music, rock, afrobeat or nu-soul).

The foodculture days platform is looking for proposals from individuals or groups working in the fields of art and culture; humanities and social sciences; earth and natural sciences; hospitality and gastronomy and/or from the agriculture field for the fourth edition of their biennial, which will take place in the city of Vevey (Switzerland) over ten days in May–June 2023.

The RES URBANAE project explores the issue of reconstruction in the broadest sense by taking as its starting point the comparison of two cities – Brest and Dresden. A two-part residency is offered to develop a work for a travelling exhibition. The residencies run 9-29 January 2023 in Brest, and 29 January – 19 February 2023 in Dresden.

The Nantes Institute for Advanced Study is establishing a new fellowship in Arts, Societies and Contemporary Mutations. In this context, the IEA in collaboration with local partners, Lieu Unique, the Nantes Saint-Nazaire School of Fine Arts, and Nantes Métropole, is offering an international artistic and research residency to artists from the global south. This residency is supported by Nantes Métropole – Culture Department and will run for 6 months from January to June 2023.

The DePOT Artist in Residence (DePOT AIR) programme supports creative engagements with the historical roots and lived experience of deindustrialization. The organisers are interested in proposals that range across the performing, creative and visual arts, are rooted in deindustrialized areas in Italy, France, Germany, the UK, the US or Canada and that speak to the impact, and legacy, of mine, mill and factory closures. The creative work generated will be showcased in the artist’s home community as well as at the DePOT Project Assembly in June 2023 in Montreal, Canada.

Le Nouveau Grand Tour, imaginé et conçu par l’Institut français d’Italie (IFI) / Ambassade de France en Italie, est un projet de résidences adressé aux jeunes talents français et allemands de moins de trente ans et déployé sur l’ensemble du territoire italien. Ce programme pluridisciplinaire s’adresse aux artistes de tous les champs de la création. Pour les arts de la scène, certains partenaires peuvent accueillir des compagnies ou collectifs.

L’Université d’Orléans a décidé de produire cette année une résidence artistique autour du verre et de l’art verrier, avec l’objectif de susciter des créations tant dans l’art verrier que dans ses résonances artistiques - musique, danse, théâtre, cinéma, littérature – techniques et scientifiques. La résidence s’adresse donc à tout artiste ou collectif d’artistes plasticiens /maîtres verriers français ou européens (nécessairement francophones) professionnels et s’étend sur une durée de 10 mois de septembre 2022 à juin 2023.

Magnetic is a joint Franco-UK initiative that brings together eight venues to create a new programme of artists’ residencies of 2 to 3 months: four in France for the UK-based artists - CAPC in Bordeaux, CRAC Occitanie in Sète, FRAC Grand Large in Dunkerque, Villa Arson in Nice, and four in the United Kingdom for France-based artists - Grizedale Arts in England, Flax Art Studios in Northern Ireland, Cove Park in Scotland and Aberystwyth Arts Centre in Wales.

Le·la chargé·e de projets européensintervient en appui à la responsable des projets de coopération sur les phases de repérage, d’ingénierie ou de mise en œuvre de projets. Il·elle est en charge de la coordination générale du projet Europe Créative grande échelle « FutureDivercities » et le cas échéant sur d’autres projets européens portés par la Friche la Belle de Mai.

The UNESCO Transcultura programme has launched a call to sponsor the participation of up to three music projects by Caribbean hip-hop artists in the International Festival and Symposium ‘Re-inventing Europe from the Caribbean. Urban Cultures, Translocal Identities and Social Movements in the Black Atlantic’, which will take place in Berlin, Germany, from 28 to 31 July 2022.

The Alt. +1000 photography festival will host its 7th edition in the Jura mountains (Switzerland) from 27 August – 18 September 2023. For the next edition, the festival will bring together a group of curators. They will each propose photographic works to be shown in the banks of Lac des Taillères.
