Located in the heart of Jutland, Riddergade AIR is an artistic platform where visual artists can develop and immerse themselves in their artistic practice while strengthening their network. With Riddergade AIR, Viborg Kunsthal offers artists excellent workshop facilities and assistance for tasks of a practical and artistic nature, as well as access to a wide local, national and international network. The Artкommunalka residency invites international applications from contemporary visual artists and from writers working in Russian to apply for grants to realise creative projects in 2021. Successful applicants will be provided a residential workshop located in a building in the historic centre of Kolomna (Moscow), and the organisers welcome projects that relate to the local area.

Fotofestiwal was established in 2001 in Łódź as one of the first photography events in Poland. This open call gives you the opportunity to present your works to the audience at the next edition of the festival, 10-27 June 2021. The organisers are looking for artists with exceptional personalities and projects which present bold visions. The call for entries is open with no thematic or age limits.

A Tale of A Tub (a contemporary arts centre in Rotterdam) has announced an open call for exhibition proposals by international curators at all stages of their professional careers for an exhibition to take place at A Tale of a Tub in the summer of 2021. They are looking for proposals that are context-responsive, relating themselves to the cultural and socio-political backdrops of Rotterdam.

Magnum Foundation’s Photography and Social Justice Programme provides space for interdisciplinary experimentation, mentored project development, and cross-cultural, critical discourse for developing new approaches to socially engaged documentary practice. This year the programme will take place remotely from May - October 2021. Early- to mid-career photographers or individuals in aligned disciplines who are motivated to deepen their engagement with photography and social justice are invited to apply.

Little Islands Festival | Moving Image & Sound seeks to connect the landscape and nature with man and art by initiating an exploration of their natural and imaginary boundaries. The site-specific open call under the name ‘Living Environments’ is looking for artists of all nationalities who are experimenting with new forms of audiovisual arts and media – such as projection mapping, multimedia/interactive installation, VR, performance – for the next festival from 21-25 August 2021.

M HKA - Museum of Contemporary Art Antwerp and Van Abbemuseum, Eindhoven, have announced a Research Fellowship for an artist, curator, writer or thinker. Lasting up to 12 months it will engage with two existing projects ‘Rewinding Internationalism: The 1990s and Today’ and ‘Eurasia: A Landscape of Mutability’. Researchers can work remotely or in Netherlands with access to the museums’ archives.

Triangle Network are launching the second iteration of Art Connection Africa, a collaboration with KfW Stiftung to foster visual art exchanges, capacity building and informal learning activities within Sub-Saharan Africa. A residency at the Bag Factory in Johannesburg from 1 February to 30 April 2020 will offer the selected candidate an opportunity for professional development, research and production of new work. Applicants should be emerging artists based in Angola, Botswana, Namibia, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe, under the age of 45.

CreArt – the Network of Cities for Artistic Creation is inviting invites three visual artists from the CreArt Network to work for one month 1-30 April 2021 at Atelierhaus Salzamt in Linz, Austria. Only local artists born or resident in the following CreArt cities are eligible to apply: Valladolid, Spain; Clermont – Ferrand, France; Lublin, Poland; Skopje, Macedonia, Liverpool, UK, and HDLU members/Zagreb, Croatia.

In 2021/2022, the Textile Center in Blönduós, Iceland will award two textile artists based in the Nordic-Baltic region with a two-month scholarship to develop and present new work in Iceland, lead a community workshop, connect to international networks and gain insight into Icelandic textile tradition and innovation. Amant’s NYC Residency Programme enables practitioners to pursue their individual artistic goals while also being closely integrated into the organisation’s wider community programming during a three-month stay in New York City. The residency welcomes applications from around the world from both emerging artists and from artists with professional standing in their field.

Invisible Lines is an international project on comics, graphic novels and illustrations. Young European artists (18-30 years old) are invited to apply to attend three workshops which will take place between May and July 2021 in Venice (Italy), Strasbourg (France) and Tábor (Czech Republic). The artworks created during the three workshops will be featured in public exhibitions throughout Europe between 2021 and 2022, and a selection will be included in a book to be published.
