With support from the University of Michigan Arts Initiative, Taubman College Visualization Laboratory (TVLab) is seeking artists working with extended reality (XR) technology. This opportunity combines artistic practice, expansive research methods, and an openness to experiment and explore possibilities within the context of an R1 Research University. Activities will run February - April 2023.

Creative technologists based in Southern or Eastern Africa can apply to participate in this lab using extended reality (XR) technology like virtual reality or augmented reality to develop new narratives on World Heritage sites in Southern and Eastern Africa. The 3-day ideas development lab will take place in Cape Town, South Africa, from 6-8 December 2022.

Realities in Transition (RIT) is calling for creative XR projects that are reimagining and expanding the notions of XR by drawing a critical, reflective path of thinking and promoting a common, open, and sustainable XR at a European level. In total, seven projects will be offered a residency at V2_ Lab in Rotterdam, The Netherlands from 6 March - 5 May 2023. The call is open to emerging creatives who are European residents.

The Art Explora Foundation together with Cité internationale des arts invite candidates to propose a project that questions contemporary issues, including new technologies, the links between art and science, and environmental and social issues. Solo residencies (6 months) for artists and duo residencies for artists and researchers (3 months) are available for various dates in 2023/2024.

Cybernate is an online and in-person residency programme for three Irish artists and three French artists who specialise in Digital Arts and have presented work in Public Space or wish to present work in the public space. The programme will take place from November 2022 to March 2023 including two 2-week in-person residencies in Lyon (FR) and Galway (IE) respectively.

Immersive Mobile Konsthall (iM KONSTHALL) – a project in the making developed by Northern Sustainable Futures (NSF) – is calling for artists working in immersive technology to create new work for a touring mobile gallery. Selected artists will undertake residencies of one-month duration at Moskosel Creative Lab.

PACT Zollverein’s residency programme is open to professional artists from Germany and abroad who work in the areas of dance, performance, media arts or music and are closely linked to PACT’s two other core strands of activity in presenting work and facilitating research and development. The next residency period will run January - June 2023.

European artists, or collectives can apply to the EMAP residency programme with a project proposal for a residency of two months within June 2022 to January 2023. The artists will be collaborating with an artist of their choice or an artist local to the platform’s host institutions.

IAS CEU offers one Writer in Residence fellowship and one Visual/New Media Artist in Residence fellowship to provide selected artists with opportunities to conceptualise and create new works while providing the Fellow community with opportunities for meaningful interaction with artists working in various fields. Fellowships last 3-5 months and may start in October 2023.

Košice – UNESCO Creative City of Media Arts is offering media artists a two-month stay in Košice this autumn (16 October – 16 December 2022). The open call is limited to the artists who are either born, live or work in any of the UNESCO Creative Cities.

‘Multimedia and Relational Arts’ is the Digital Manufacturing Summer School and creative residencies 2022. The main goal of the project is to train young artists under 35 by promoting new productions strongly connected with the stories of production realities of their working areas. Theater, dance, video, multimedia installations are expressive languages that can be used to narrate corporate identities, good practices of production, artisan workshops memories, as well as enhancing and upgrading through performativity the production spaces.
