The Linden-Museum Stuttgart invites applications for an eight-week Artistic Research Residency for an artist interested in working with the museum’s collections and exhibitions. The residency will take place at the museum in May and June 2023 and is co-funded by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union.

As part of the European project Rewilding Cultures, The Ionian University is calling for applicants for the ‘TTTfellows: Art and Science Residency’, taking place 17-30 April 2023 online, and 1-16 May 2023 on the island of Corfu. The open call is for one artist and one scientist to collaborate with one another.

The young, daring and driven are invited to apply to Trans Europe Halles’ free 9 month mentoring programme ‘Duct tape and Dreams’ (running February - October 2023). Duct Tape and Dreams is a hands-on mentoring and capacity building programme for emerging artistic collectives that provides young and committed creatives with the necessary tools and expertise to build a sustainable future in the independent cultural sector.

The curators of ūmėdė’2024 invite applications from Nordic and Baltic curators and researchers to come up with draft proposals for the second edition of the festival. The selected residents will have the opportunity to immerse themselves for two months in the local context of Vilnius and the cultural complex SODAS 2123, either in April-May 2023 or June-July 2023.

The Salettl Residency Programme aims to offer artists the opportunity to enter into direct dialogue with the community of the Kleine Stadt Farm in in Vienna’s Donaustadt and the surrounding nature in order to develop a project on site. The residency will run from 28 May – 25 June 2023, with final presentation on 24 June.

For more than a hundred years Karosta was a naval base closed to the public. Now, decades after the military has left, Karosta (located in Liepaja, Latvia) is having a second life. Karosta Festival seeks artistic creation processes, exhibitions, concerts, performances and workshops. New artwork will be created during the festival week in Karosta (5-11 June 2023) and presented during three public events 9, 10 and 11 June.

KORDON invites artists from the Nordic and Baltic region to join a long-term lab and residency process aimed at widening the understanding of food in relation to energy. Each artist will be invited for approx. 11 weeks of residency divided between three different time periods of approx. 1 month. The full cycle will run from summer/autumn 2023 to summer 2024.

In 2023, the Art Prospect Network Residency programme will support residencies for eighteen artists and curators from USA and the Art Prospect Network countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bulgaria, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan) focusing on exchange and collaboration in the field of socially engaged art and/or public art.

School of Commons (SoC) is looking for groups and individuals who would like to conduct their research and practice as a part of the SoC community and informal study programme from May 2023 - February 2024. This includes bi-weekly meetings and an overall estimated time commitment of 4 days per month, with most work taking place online.

As part of the European project More-than-Planet, Finnish partner Photo North - Northern Photographic Centre is launching an open call for artists for two residency programmes in 2023 and 2024 at Pyhäsalmi Mine and Oulanka National Park in Finland. The programme aims to re-examine the way people understand and picture the environment on the level of the planet as a conceptual whole. The residency is open to all forms of art but places an emphasis on artistic practices that employ lens-based techniques.

Leaky Archive is the new digital project at the Rautenstrauch-Joest Museum (RJM) in Cologne, Germany. It asks how RJM’s collection database, with around 165,000 entries, most of which contain minimal information, cab be more transparent and accessible. The present open call is directed to artists, activists, makers, experts, and collectives from the Global South, who are invited to apply with a project idea they want to pursue.
