This year ACT Festival for Independent Theatre (7-10 November) in Sofia (Bulgaria) turns three and has three main objectives: to continue to promote the independent performing scene, to support the presentation of a new form for the country – the performative action – as well as propose specific solutions for the development of the independent field and its recognition.
The forum will explore several key factors in the development of contemporary culture that we consider important. They are: the development of international partnerships, the establishment of independent art spaces, as well as the development of new audiences and international mobility of artists and creative products.
“We think they could bring added value to the contemporary Bulgarian culture and independent stage and the search for practical solutions for their stimulation is one way to further expand the capacity of Bulgarian cultural organisations”.
On the Move will participate in the forum on 9 November and will take the opportunity of this public forum to introduce the newly updated guide for cultural mobility funding opportunities for Bulgaria (in partnership with Culture Desk Foundation).
