	<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Hablar en Arte launches an <strong>open call to select three european art professionals (curators, cultural managers, journalists, ...) for three-week-residencies in Madrid. </strong>They consist of a tailor-made tour, designed to meet the specific Spanish and Madrid-based contemporary artists, that best match with specific interests of each resident.</p>
<p>During their stay in Spain, the residents will be accompagnied and supported by local curators and cultural managers and are invited to give a short public conference at Matadero Madrid in which they present themselves, their organization and their project to the local art community.</p>
<p>Back in their home-countries, the residents will develop a cultural project that includes artists and art-projects they have come to know during their stay in Spain. <strong>Each of the residencies will have a duration of three weeks. </strong>Each applicant can choose among the following months:</p>
<p>•	August 2012</p>
<p>•	September 2012</p>
<p>•	October 2012</p>
<p>The residency covers the use of a flat in the neighbourhood of Legazpi, in the surroundings of Matadero Madrid and the travel cost (inbound and outbound) to the European country of residence. Each resident receives 500 Euros to cover other travels and daily expenses.</p>
<p>The contest is <strong>open to all European art professionals that do not live and work in Spain</strong>.</p>
<p>The open call seeks <strong>especially for participants who do not yet have a consolidated international career</strong>, as one of the primary goals of <a href="http://www.curators-network.eu/residencemad/gathering_terms" target="_blank">Curators’ Network </a>is to gather art-professionals who are still not well known in a larger European context.</p>

	<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><a href="http://www.seanse.no/default.aspx?menu=180&id=153" target="_blank">SEANSE ART CENTER</a> is proud to present the first international conference to focus on TEACHING ARTISTRY.  </p>
<p>We invite artists, arts educators, administrators, and interested professionals from all over the world to join us for an unprecedented three days of inquiry into this worldwide phenomenon, this rich opportunity, this growing trend.</p>
<p>The conference will take place in <strong>Oslo</strong> (Norway) on <strong>August, 29-31</strong>.</p>
<p>To create an inspiring and high impact gathering, the conference will have limited number of participants.</p>
<p>We anticipate applicants from all over the world,and the selection criteria for attendance will seek to create a <strong>diverse participant group</strong> - artistically, geographically, philosophically, professionally, and in age.</p>

	<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The educative program <a href="http://nultybod.cz/" target="_blank">Performing Arts for the Future</a> is a project of 7 workshops for young artists and students from all over Europe. The inspiring idea is to create conditions for meeting emerging artists with legends of new theater. All participants of the workshops have free entry for the festival productions and they form the core of the festival. Participants are actively involved into the festival events and build contacts for future cooperation. Last year, they managed to arrange a very close cooperation between them and the Hungarian group: The Bladder Circus Company.</p>
<p><strong>WE OFFER:</strong><br /><br />To spend a summer week as a part of 2 Prague theater festivals (Zero Point and Behind the Door) with the legends of performing arts and actively participate in their workshops</p>

<p>Theatre Academy Helsinki is a performing arts university offering a wide range of education in theatre and dance. It has some 430 students and a staff of 140. <br />  <br />Theatre Academy Helsinki invites applications for a <strong>Professorship in Performance Art and Theory </strong>(teaching-focused position) for a fixed term from <strong>1 August 2013 to 31 July 2018</strong>. </p>
<p>The professor will lead and develop the MA Degree Programme in Live Art and Performance Studies, follow developments in the field and provide teaching based on them. The professor will also participate in international and community interaction. The appointee’s duties will include development and various administrative activities at Theatre Academy Helsinki and the future Art University.</p>

	<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><a href="http://www.hotelproforma.dk/" target="_blank">Hotel Pro Forma</a> is one of the leading theatre production companies in Europe in the experimental performing arts. <strong>Hotel Pro Forma is looking for students </strong>with a strong personal drive to form part of a transdisciplinary team who can contribute with knowledge in specific areas of expertise. At the same time, you will receive unique insight into the artistic and production-related processes that make up Hotel Pro Forma.</p>
<p>In the fall of 2012, interns will work specifically on the Danish production <strong><em>The one that whispers </em></strong>which premieres on 10 November 2012 at Theatre Republique in Copenhagen. As a part of the internship there will be arranged a showing of the work to a small audience at the end of the internship in December 2012, either as a digital or physical work.</p>
<p>The projects are, like all of our productions, an investigation of different phenomena within performance art, architecture, light, sound, perception, use of new technology and communication.</p>
<p><strong>We are looking for interns or students within one or more of following areas of expertise:</strong></p>

<p>The period for the internship is <strong>from 24 September - 14 December 2012</strong>. The internship is without salary and is full-time. The working language is English.</p>

	<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong><strong>Tuesday May 22 </strong><a href="http://www.transartists.org/" target="_blank">Trans Artists / Platform AiR NL</a></strong> organizes a meeting for artists and organizers of artist-in-residence programs about facing the unforeseen.</p>
<p>Each artist-in-residence organization needs some basic form of continuity, consistency, and stability. What if this basic garantee of existence is challenged?</p>
<p>- How do AiR organizers cope with unforeseen situations?<br />- How can artists prepare themselves to work in an unstable environment?<br />- How do AiR organizers cope with artists, who come from unstable situations?</p>
<p>After the nuclear disaster in Fukushima in Japan (March 2011) AiR organizers in the polluted areas wanted to share their experiences and asked Trans Artists to address the subject. This meeting takes a wider scope and addresses also other situations of instability and urgency.<br /><br />The program of the meeting includes<strong> presentations, artist's talks and discussions</strong> about the challenges, which <strong>artist-in-residence centers in Japan</strong> are facing. Next to this we will seek for <strong>practical example</strong>s how to prepare for entering situations of instability and conflict, and how to deal with those situations. We will address the issue of <strong>receiving as AiR organizers artists in need</strong>, who come from unstable situations. 	<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Kala Fellowship award is an international competition <strong>open to artists from the U.S. and around the world</strong>. Hosting nine new artists at Kala each year helps to ensure that the artistic energy and vision of Kala’s entire community of artists in residence is continually re-energized and rejuvenated.</p>
<p>Artists producing innovative work in book arts, electronic/digital media (video, sound, animation, etc.), installation art, social practice, photography, and printmaking are encouraged to apply. Fellowship Awards will be given based on conceptual creativity, originality and artistic excellence as well as technical knowledge. </p>
<p><strong>We select nine artists</strong> and each receives a fellowship consisting of: <br /> * a $3,000 cash award <br /> * up to six months of studio residency at Kala Art Institute <br /> * 24/7 access to Kala´s studio (An individual studio space may be also available depending on proposed projects and schedules.) <br /> * a free class or equivalent tutorial sessions. <br /> * an exhibition opportunity at the Kala gallery of the artwork created during the residency</p>
<p><strong>Eight</strong> of the nine Kala Fellowships awards are available to artists from the US and around the world.</p>
<p><strong>One</strong> of the nine Kala Fellowship awards is designated specifically to a California artist living outside of the main metropolitan areas. To serve a more diverse constituency, The James Irvine Foundation generously funds this Fellowship award. Artists from the North Coast, Central Coast, Central Valley and Inland Empire are eligible and encouraged to apply.</p>
<p>Additionally, <strong>one</strong> of the nine Kala Fellowship awards is available to artists from the US and around the world working in <strong>Social Practice</strong>. Social Practice can be loosely defined as a form of collaboration that engages social and public interaction as the primary component of the work. Examples include but are not limited to the following: alternative exchanges of goods and services, community-based projects, activating non-typical art viewing situations, social and political activism.</p>
<p>The Fellowship does not include housing.</p>

	<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Established in 2004 in honor of its founding benefactor Fernando Zobel de Ayala (1924-1984), whose support of young Filipino visual artists left an indelible mark in Philippine art history, the <a href="http://www.ateneoartgallery.org/art_awards_about.php" target="_blank">Ateneo Art Awards</a> are given to <strong>Filipino visual artists below the age of 36</strong> for outstanding work in an exhibition between 2 May of the previous year and 1 May of the current year.</p>
<p>Nominations are accepted from <strong>visual artists, curators, museum and gallery directors, members of the present and former juries, art educators and art writers</strong>. </p>
<p>From all the nominees, 12 exhibits/ artworks will be shortlisted and on 09 August 2012, 3 will be declared winners. The artists who created the winning exhibitions/ artworks will be invited to apply for the international residency grants funded by the Ateneo Art Gallery and its partner institutions.</p>

	<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The international conference <strong>Asia-Europe Encounters: Intellectual and Cultural Exchanges, 1900-1950</strong> (Singapore, December 2012) will explore the intellectual and cultural flows between Asia and Europe which occurred during, and in part were formative of, the political and social changes over the first half of the 20th century.  It will be an exploration of the intellectual and cultural currents of this age and an investigation into how the two ends of Eurasia interacted in these spheres through (new) cosmopolitanism and other novel ideologies which affected both European and Asian societies. The aspects to be explored include the forms, venues, mediums, and actors of such encounters, which took place among others in the spheres of politics, culture, education, arts and religion. A public forum on the topic will also be organised at the Asian Civilisations Museum.</p>
<p>Expressions of interest are invited from those who would like to present a paper at this conference. Young scholars from Asia and Europe are especially encouraged to apply. The <strong>Call for Papers for this conference is now open</strong>.
