WZB Berlin Social Science Center: Artist in Residence Fellowship 2025 (Germany)

The Artist in Residence Fellowship will be established for the first time in 2025 as a pilot project in memory of Meinolf Dierkes, the former president of the WZB (WZB), who passed away in 2024 and who championed transfer and out-of-the-box thinking throughout his life. It is intended to enable an artist to spend two months at the WZB in Berlin, pursue their own project, engage in exchanges with researchers, and participate in internal and public events.

The residency is for freelance artists whose work regularly addresses scientific topics or topics from politics, society, and the economy. Applications from non-Germans living abroad are welcome. While EU citizens enjoy freedom of movement, non-EU citizens must take care of all matters related to their residency themselves.

The residency is for two months until the end of 2025 and the duration of the stay will be agreed upon individually.

A research grant of 2,000 EUR per month is offered for the duration of the stay. The WZB provides the fellows with a workspace. All research resources in the institute’s library are freely available.
