The Res.Art call, promoted by Vivo Center, represents a unique opportunity for young contemporary dance choreographers. The initiative involves the selection of four choreographers between the ages of 18 and 36 to bring to the stage dance creations performed by professional dancers. Through Res.Art, choreographers will be able to express their creativity and showcase their artistic vision to the audience. The project serves as a platform for those who aspire to emerge in the art scene and establish their choreographic career. With the support of Vivo Center, these young talents will have the opportunity to create innovative and captivating performances, enriching the landscape of the Italian contemporary dance scene.
The Res.Art project includes 6 choreographic residencies that will take place in the 2023/2024 season (indicatively in the periods between October 2022 and June 2023) in Rome at the Vivo Center in Via Archiano 8. The residency is aimed at choreographers from contemporary dance that have at least one choreographic work composed of a minimum of 3 dancers staged and/or published between 2019 and 2023.
Each choreographic residency includes a 10-day period for the preparation of the performances, as well as a general rehearsal that will be scheduled in collaboration with the management. The choreographers will have access to the center’s spaces and tools for creating the performance, working alongside the professional dancers from the VIVO FLYOUT transition company. The pieces will be staged throughout the year, potentially multiple times.
The selected choreographers will receive a payment of 600 Euros each, which will cover travel expenses and accommodation.
