Tanssin Aika Festival > Open Call for Choreographers and Dance Artists (Finland)

Tanssin Aika festival in Jyväskylä, Finland will take place 22-25 September 2021. It invites choreographers and dance artists to propose pieces for the two following categories:

1. Re-make: An existing work, which will be remade for and performed by 17-20-year old dancers in 2021.

The performance will have its re-premiere at the festival in 2021, after which it will tour the provinces in the vicinity of Jyväskylä. The organisers are expecting proposals which will challenge the young dancers. Possibly works that you would initially not expect them to do!

The work should have 3-10 performers. The choreographer will be paid a fee for one month and designers will receive fees to adapt the work to school halls and Villa Rana stage. The piece will be rehearsed in Jyväskylä.

2. Performances outside and in the spaces of Villa Rana

The festival takes place both in the centre of Jyväskylä and Villa Rana stages. As part of the festival the organisers will produce a moped tour with young drivers traveling from one performance to another so that both durational and spectacular performances lasting only for a short moment suit the festival evenings.

Performance proposals should be submitted with a budget.

Deadline: 31 January 2021
