Drawing Lab Paris > Call for a Contemporary Drawing Exhibition by an Artist / Curator Duo (France)
Drawing Lab Paris, a centre for contemporary drawing, is calling for exhibition proposals from duos composed of a curator and an artist. Artists or curators under the age of 25 are not eligible for the call.
The artist and the curator are asked to present an exhibition exploring all aspects of contemporary drawing. The exhibition project, as well as its artworks, must be specifically designed for the Drawing Lab (site plans available in the full call). Selected projects will be presented to the public during a two-month period in 2021.
A budget of 20,000 euros VAT not included for each project. This budget includes: the artworks’ production, the artist and curator’s payments, the artworks’ transportation and, if needed, the artist and curator’s remuneration.
For foreign artists willing to obtain a residency to work in Paris, a partnership with the Cité international des arts can be requested. The residency’s fees will be included in the production budget.
In the spirit of experimentation, the Drawing Lab aims to support artists producing new and innovative works of art; therefore it is strongly recommended that the artist and curator’s fees don’t exceed 30% of the budget.
Support for all marketing costs, advice and mentoring, and organisation of outreach activities for young visitors around the exhibition.
Deadline: 5 April 2020
