Residencies for professional choreographers from Egypt, Middle East & North Africa (Cairo, Egypt)

MAAT Dance M.E.C.A with the partnership of the Euro-Arab Network for Contemporary Dance and Performance,  launches from 2014 onwards a new annual international residency programme at the new headquarters of Cairo Contemporary Dance Center in Cairo. 

This international call for applications is open to emerging professional artists from Egypt, Middle East and North Africa, who work in the areas of contemporary dance and performance.

Artists-in-residence selected from this call may benefit of the various kinds of support that this residency programme offers:

- Working spaces (free of charge) including access to 1 dance studio with 106 m², 14m x 8m, and/or 1 dance studio with 45 m², 7,50m x 6m, at the CCDC headquarters;

-Artistic feedback and artistic accompaniment through presentation and exchange platforms (White Box and CCDC Platform);

- For artists and artists groups coming from other Middle Eastern & North African countries, a total of 4 travel and production grants will be awarded for residencies in 2015.

This call is open all year to those interested but we only accept applications submitted via our on-line application form. Please remind that if you are not resident in Egypt and you are requesting financial support from us to cover international travels, accommodation and daily allowances in Egypt, your residency can only be considered for 2015! Residencies in 2014 cannot unfortunately benefit from this financial support but the space is available.
