3rd European Forum on Music: Re>>generating Europe through Music (Glasgow, 18-21 April)

The European ideal is currently being challenged by the financial, economic and social crisis that is affecting an increasing number of Europe’s populace. The European Music Council is inviting the European music sector to debate and challenge how it can contribute to a Europe which has both social and cultural values at its heart, and where the focus is put once again on the people.

The host city of Glasgow is a model example of how music can contribute to the regeneration of a city. The European Forum on Music will ask what can we learn from Glasgow and if the positive example of Glasgow can be applied to the broader European context.

The Forum will be a place for dialogue and networking, for inspiration and exchange and for meeting musicians and music activists from all over Europe. Young people are especially invited to join the Youth Day that precedes the forum.

Together with the local partner, the Scottish Music Centre, EMC is looking forward to welcoming you in Glasgow – to jointly act for Europe and the growing importance of music in Europe.
