Academy for young orchestra conductors - Abbaye de Royaumont, France

The contemporary music ensemble Linea, its conductor Jean-Philippe Wurtz, Péter Eötvös and the Royaumont Abbey (near Paris) are gathering their means and skills to propose, from april 28th to may 4th 2013, an exceptional academy for young conductors in Abbaye de Royaumont - France.

This academy is unique in that it will allow young conductors to tackle the special conducting techniques of contemporary music by directing a specialised ensemble under the supervision of seasoned exponents of this repertoire.

Each of the ten selected conductors will be allotted a substantial period of rehearsal time with the ensemble, which will be present throughout the session. The working session will lead up to public performances at the Abbey (public masterclass and final concert).

There are places available for ten conductors currently finishing their studies or beginning their professional career.
