Call for participation: International Theatre Workshops, Norway, summer 2012

WE’RE PLEASED TO INVITE YOU to attend three different workshops, organized as two-week retreats at ITL’s Theatre Centre in Bjørke - a rustic haven tucked away between mountains and fjords on the west coast of Norway.

Once again this summer, ITL’s master instructors will join forces with guest instructors from Spain and Russia to bring you an exciting learning experience that will help improve your craft - and also leave lasting memories of fellowship with actors worldwide. By introducing a variety of methodologies, we strive to ignite the actor’s creative energy, capable of transforming an empty space into a narrative of ever new configurations.

THE WORKSHOPS OFFER fun, yet rigorous hands-on training, progressing from simple toward complex structures and combining different modes of learning. Each day ends with a facilitated group discussion where ideas are synthesized, and directions are found for further exploration. Although the training is never kept separate from the creative process, more of the training’s application to performance will be explored in the second week, when both instructors collaborate on an ensemble creation that utilizes their consolidated techniques.

Target participants: Actors, performers, students and teachers of acting, anyone and everyone who is part of the extended theatre ‘family’!

Acceptance is contingent upon approval of application, space availability, and completed registration.

Why attend?
BECAUSE it will be an experience second to none - equal parts inspired learning, cultural adventure, and breathtaking nature! It’s the kind of place we’re willing to bet you’ll want to return to, again and again.

BECAUSE we believe you will meet like-minded spirits. Think of all the laughs and great conversation we’ll share over a beer! Not to mention the exciting ideas we can cook up together…
