On the Move cultural mobility information service re-launches
Thanks to the support of the

BKM (Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and Media, Germany), Ministry of Education Finland, The Open Society Institute and Arts Council of Ireland, On the Move's mobility information service is now back in action! We are extremely grateful to our funders and look forward to working with them in 2009.PRACTICS - pilot cultural mobility contact points launched in Belgium, Netherlands, Wales & Spain
PRACTICS is a project supported by the European Commission with the aim to facilitate the provision of information about EU cross-border mobility in the cultural sector. It sets up Pilot CMCPs with the task to offer relevant and user-friendly information to mobile cultural workers. Four CMCPs launched their activities in May 2009 and will expand their competencies to be fully operational by November 2009.

SPACE Pilot Project for Artistic Mobility launched - Supporting Performing Arts Circulation in Europe
Ten national cultural institutions with an international policy and practice created a new platform, dedicated to Support the Performing Arts Circulation in Europe: SPACE.

e.mobility project launch of community network
Launch of e.mobility community network - e.mobility is meant to be an interactive and innovative community network. It counts on interactivity and considers the encounter between artists and operators from the cultural, economic and social worlds as a driving force, to imagine new forms of mobility.

CHANGING ROOM pilot mobility project launched by Trans Europe Halles
CHANGING ROOM is a two-year pilot project looking for new ways of stimulating cross-border mobility of cultural operators. 

EU study on 'European information systems to support the mobility of artists and cultural workers'
The feasibility study on European information systems supporting the mobility of artists and cultural workers was published in April 2009.   Read the LabforCulture blog review of the study.

Mobility Matters - Programmes and Schemes to Support the Mobility of Artists and Cultural Professionals
The ERICarts Institute carried out a six month study for the European Commission between April and October 2008 on mobility incentives in the culture/creative sector. The final study was published in November 2008.

Call for Proposals: Caucasus and Inner Asia. OSI's Arts and Culture Program requests proposals from individuals and organizations that draw on the power of artistic and expressive culture to help build and maintain open societies in the Caucasus and Inner Asia.

Take a look at this new British Airways artists mobility scheme!
On the Move publishes only international mobility opportunities. But here's an interesting new mobility scheme model - it's only open to people in the UK but it could be of interest to policymakers and others in the cultural field. Get into negotiation with your national airline! 

Arab Fund for Arts & Culture - grants programme (deadline: 31 Aug)
The Arab Fund for Arts & Culture aims at stimulating and supporting artistic creativity and freedom of cultural expression in the Arab World.

Nordic Culture Point (next deadline for mobility grants: Sep 3)
Professional artists and cultural operators residing in a Nordic country can apply for funding. Applications open 5 August.  The projects can also include participants from non-Nordic countries. Mobility grants are available for artists and cultural operators resident in a Nordic country who want to travel to another Nordic country.

EU Culture Programme (2007-2013) - Deadline for cooperation projects: 1 Oct; Deadline for support for European cultural bodies: 1 Nov
The EU's Culture programme (2007-2013) has a budget of EURO 400 million for projects and initiatives to celebrate Europe's cultural diversity and enhance our shared cultural heritage through the development of cross-border co-operation between cultural operators and institutions.

EU 'Mediterranean Sea Basin Programme' - cross-border cooperation projects (deadline: 16 Sep)
Cross-border cooperation "Mediterranean Sea Basin Programme". Call for proposals for projects, including in the field of culture.

Safar Youth Mobility Fund: (for travel within Arab world)
Safar, meaning travel in Arabic, is also the name of our program "Safar: Youth Mobility Fund". The program supports Arab youth in their travel in the Arab world providing them with the air tickets and / or other travel expenses.

Open Society Institute Arts and Culture Network Program - Roma Cultural Program (open deadline to 2010)
Call for Proposals: Roma Cultural Program. OSI's Arts and Culture Program requests proposals from individuals and organizations that conduct research and explore Roma cultural and social identity in order to empower Roma and promote cultural inclusiveness.

European Cultural Foundation - grants for artistic projects (deadline: 31 July)
The ECF Grants scheme supports the arts across Europe by investing in people and projects whose work is innovative and border-crossing. This involves giving young people the chance to make the most of their creativity and have their work displayed and discussed in mainstream media. It means encouraging open artistic exchange, through special collaborative projects and by funding the travel of artists and cultural workers.

ACP (African-Caribbean-Pacific) EU resources info for training and mobility
THE EU-ACP SUPPORT PROGRAMME TO CULTURAL INDUSTRIES IN ACP countries is funded by the European Commission, managed and implemented by the Secretariat of the African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States (ACP). It is open to the 79 African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) Group of States and the European Union Member States that are signatories to the 9th European Development Fund (EDF). 

European Voluntary Service: mobility opportunities in Art & Culture for 18-30 year olds
EVS - European Voluntary Service - is part of the EU-programme Youth in Action. EVS gives all young persons aged 18-30 the possibility to work abroad for 2-12 months. 

STEP beyond mobility scheme - updated info
Mobility is the life-blood of cultural cooperation. Artists and cultural workers need to move easily across borders to meet their international peers, exchange views, cooperate, and influence one another.
