Culture Council agrees European Agenda for culture
The Culture Council has agreed a structured system of cooperation and concrete priorities for 2008-2010 across the EU, including a commitment to improve the mobility of artists and others in the cultural field.

Cultural cooperation EU-Russia - joint agreement
EU/ CULTURE: Towards more cultural cooperation between EU and RussiaOn 25 October, the Portuguese Minister of Culture, Isabel Pires de Lima, the EU Commissioner Ján Figel', the Slovenian Minister of Culture Vasko Simoniti and the Russian Minister of Culture Alexander Sokolov, gathered in Lisbon for the first meeting of the EU-Russia Permanent Partnership Council on Culture, adopted a Joint Statement outlining the future priorities for cultural cooperation between the two partners.

Kajaani conference on EU-Russia and Northern Dimension cultural cooperation
Conclusions of the Conference on the Northern Dimension and Culture in KajaaniRepresentatives of the Nordic and Baltic countries, the Nordic Council of Ministers, the EU Presidency Portugal, the European Commission, the Russian Federation, the regional councils and different cultural organisations and networks activating and supporting cooperation in the field of culture convened in Kajaani on 8 and 9 October 2007.

Eurobarometer study on European, culture and cultural values
Eurobarometer study on Europeans, culture and cultural values published by the European CommissionIn 2007, the European Commission (Directorate General Education and Culture) commissioned a quantitative Eurobarometer study to measure public opinion on culture and values within Europe, in order to ascertain both opinions and behaviour in this area. A survey covering 26 000 citizens in 27 Member States took place in February and March 2007. The objectives of the study were in particular to analyse:

Strict visa regulations discourage visiting artists to US
It is unclear how many foreign groups have cancelled their tours to the USA because of visa problems, but in interviews, arts presenters and booking agents there and in other countries cited it as an urgent concern.

Visiting Arts is pleased to announce the fourth edition of the Artist to Artist International Scheme, providing an opportunity for artists from the UK to invite artists from overseas to visit them for a week in March 2008.

man.in.fest, Cluj-Napoca, Romania, Oct 19-26 2008 (deadline: 1 Mar)
man.in.fest will take place between the 19th and 26 October 2008 in Cluj-Napoca (in Transylvania region of Romania), organized by Teatrul Imposibil (The Impossible Theatre) an independent Cultural Association located in Cluj-Napoca.

The 11th Iran International Festival of University Theatre (IIFUT) will be held in Tehran on 27 April until 4 May 2008.

International Rostrum of Electroacoustic Music
The IREM is hosted by Miso Music Portugal and RTP-Antena 2 and will take place in Lisbon (Portugal) from the 17th December to the 20th December 2007. The Rostrum is also an occasion to get to know Portuguese Music.
