Siao-Long Cultural Park is located on the northern outskirts of Tainan city, Taiwan. International artists are invited to apply for SCP's artist in residence programme, which in 2021 takes the concept of ‘Site-Specific Art’ as its theme. The university are seeking two artists and a scientist to work together in the Aalto Biofilia – A Base for Biological Arts in the Aalto University, Finland for a four-week period in February-March 2021. The Jan Michalski Foundation lies at the foot of the Swiss Jura Mountains in Montricher. Its residency programme is open to all types of writers engaged in literary creation. While they give priority to writers and translators, the Foundation are also open to any other disciplines as long as writing is at the heart of the project. Stays in the Jan Michalski Foundation can be granted for individual projects or projects in pairs, and can last two weeks, one month, two months, three months or six-months. Hamburg Ministry for Culture and Media is inviting applications for four three-month residencies between January and December 2021 in the Westwerk artists’ centre in Hamburg. The programme is open to professional international artists resident outside Germany, from the fields of the visual arts, photography and film, with an interest in the Hamburg cultural scene and the desire to network culturally in Hamburg. The INHABIT Artist in Residence Programme of the Max Planck Institute for Empirical Aesthetics in Frankfurt invites artists from various disciplines to collaborate with the institute’s team of scientists and researchers. Artists will spend three months creating new work, or further developing an existing project, in a scientific research environment. The upcoming residency periods are: February – April 2021; May – July 2021; and September – November 2021. Deadline: 16 August 2020.
Skaftfell Center for Visual Art in Seyðisfjörður, Iceland is offering three two-month residency grants in 2021, courtesy of the Nordic Baltic Mobility Programme. K3 | Tanzplan Hamburg provides three eight-month residencies per season to choreographers, who are currently at the beginning of their career and have produced some choreographic work of their own. The next residency will begin August 2021 and run until April 2022. Over the course of the residency the three choreographers will each develop a full-length piece that is presented at the end of the residency on three evenings. Deadline: 12 August 2020.

The Art House and Outside In are seeking proposals from individual artists who would like to develop and progress their practice through a residency at The Art House’s purpose-built studios in Wakefield, England. This opportunity is only open to artists who fit the criteria for Outside In as a charity that supports ‘artists who face significant barriers to the art world due to health, disability, social circumstance or isolation’. ZK/U / Mondriaan Fonds > 2021 Residencies for Visual Artists, Curators, Critics and Theorists (Germany)
Based in Berlin, ZK/U – Zentrum für Kunst und Urbanistik is a residency centre operating at the intersection of visual arts, art research, architecture and urban innovation. Mondriaan Fonds is sponsoring two six-month residency periods at ZK/U: 1 January – 30 June 2021 and 1 July – 30 December 2021. Applications are open for visual artists and mediators (curators, critics, theorists). Artists are expected to have an advanced professional practice and mediators (curators, critics, theorists) should have a few years of professional experience. The Bibliothek Andreas Züst (Oberegg, Switzerland) has opened applications for one-month studio residencies in November 2020 and April 2021. The Bibliothek is especially seeking projects that respond to the library as a whole or one of its sub-areas.
