Red Zone Festival > Exceptional grants

Culture Resource, in cooperation with Kirkelig Kulturverksted (KKV) Norway, announces the launch of an exceptional grant to fund the development of new, original creative artistic works by Arab artists. The fund will be used to support creative projects in music, theater, dance, visual arts, and multidisciplinary productions (i.e. installations combining several of above). The selected artworks will be premiered at the third edition of the Red Zone Festival which will take place in both Norway and the Arab Region in Spring 2018.

Red Zone Festival is an international platform that supports artists to showcase their work, especially those focusing on freedom of expression, and the concepts of borders, displacement, censorship, and other currently globally relevant ideas. The festival was organized for the first time in Oslo, Norway in March 2013 followed by two installations taking place in Cairo and Beirut in 2014. The second edition of the festival took place in Beirut and Tunis in 2016. In the upcoming edition of the festival, Culture Resource will support, for the first time, specific artistic productions to be showcased at the festival as part of the festival’s overall programming.

This fund will support three to four creative projects in various artistic disciplines, with each award reaching a maximum of $17,000. The artistic disciplines covered by the fund are: music, theatre & dance, visual arts, and multidisciplinary productions.

Deadline: 28 July 2017
