The new European Media Art Platform offers residencies for Media Artists in the fields of digital media including Internet and computer-based artists, filmmakers, and those working in media based performance, sound or video as well as robotics or bio-art. As announced during the first iSTAN Stage Art Summit, held in Beijing 2016, iSTAN is pleased to announce a competition which concentrates on Costume Design and Makeup Design.The goal of the competition is to promote and stimulate the artistic creativity of stage art and design professionals and students. Beyond students, the competition is open to designers who have worked in the field of the stage arts professionally as a Costume Designer or Makeup Designer. The entry should be stage costume works and makeup design works which have been formally shown. Deadline: 28 February 2018.
The non-profit Allianz Cultural Foundation initiates and sponsors multilateral art, culture and education projects in Europe and the Mediterranean fostering mutual understanding and dialogue that transcends borders. Its main focus is on cross-disciplinary and contemporary projects that put innovative approaches in art, culture and education into practice and that help shape social change in the spirit of European integration. The Almagro OFF International Contest represents the commitment of the Almagro International Festival of Classical Theatre to give space and visibility to the young stage directors, who work with a renewed language and staging approach to the classical texts in order to point directly at the curiosity of today’s audience. The Prince Claus Fund’s Ticket Fund supports the cross-cultural exchange of artists and cultural practitioners by covering travel costs, in particular for artists and cultural practitioners living in Latin America, Asia, Africa, the Caribbean, non-EU Balkans and non-EU Eastern Europe who wish to travel within these areas. Please note that the Mobility Fund is not accepting applications at the moment. However, the Mobility Fund will open again on 1 February 2018, and you are welcome to submit your application after that date.
The Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia is launching a call for performing arts cooperation projects in Europe in order to foster partnerships between Swiss and other European cultural institutions and organisations in the performing arts field. With the support provided, Swiss cultural institutions and organisations are given the opportunity to expand their professional network and to familiarise themselves with local scenes and the working methods of their peers in other European countries. They are also given the possibility of enhancing their own artistic practice through new forms of collaboration. Projects from the following disciplines may be submitted: theatre, dance, literary and visual art performance, contemporary music theatre, contemporary circus. Deadline: 1 March 2018.
In 2012, the Federal Cultural Foundation established the TURN – Fund for Artistic Cooperation between Germany and African Countries in order to encourage a wide range of German institutions to shift their focus on the artistic production and cultural debates in African countries.In order to respond to the continued interest in these joint projects, the Federal Cultural Foundation has extended the programme with additional funding until 2021 (originally scheduled to end in April 2020).
