International Theatre Festival Love Sharing (Italy) > Open call for applications 'Migration'

This international performing arts Festival 'Love sharing' aims to spread the nonviolent culture through theatre and visual arts. “Love Sharing” 2018 will focus on Migration. The Festival is open to all contemporary artists. Special attention will be paid to innovative and interdisciplinary works. All kinds of contemporary artworks and performances are acceptable: theatre, dancing, contemporary music; street theatre and circus; visual arts, video, painting, sculpture and photography. AIR Antwerpen > Artist residency opportunities in Mexico and Colombia

AIR Antwerpen presents in collaboration with R.A.T. Mexico City a residency opportunity of six weeks in Mexico City from 1 September until 15 October 2018. AIR Antwerpen also collaborates for the first time in 2018 to set up an exchange between both cities for visual artists from Belgium and Colombia. AMARRE > Open call for residencies (Lebanon and Belgium)

Amarre, in French, means mooring line: rope, cable or chain by which a boat is attached to the shore or to an anchor. AMARRE aims to connect forcibly displaced artists (or artists in exile) to their host communities. It is a residency programme that provides a safe working space for the selected artists to develop their projects and share them with the local audience, as well as connect them to the professional networks in their new environments. There are currently two remaining open calls for Lebanon (1 March) and Belgium (1 May). The call in Lebanon is open to artists 1) of Syrian origin 2) currently in exile 3) in Lebanon. Urban Studies Foundation > International Fellowships

Applications are invited for an International Fellowship for early to mid-career urban scholars from the Global South, on any theme pertinent to a better understanding of urban realities in the Global South. The Fellowship covers the costs of a sabbatical period at a university of the candidate’s choice in the Global North or South for the purpose of writing up the candidate’s existing research findings in the form of publishable articles or a book under the guidance of a chosen mentor in their field of study. Salzburg International Summer Academy (Austria) > Open call

“Transgressing boundaries” is the motto of the 2018 course programme. 18 courses – 17 in Hohensalzburg Fortress and one in the Kiefer quarry in Fürstenbrunn – take diverse approaches to topical questions of art production, encompassing all media and going beyond them. Thus students may make their way from painting to sound (song), from performance to installation, from photography to film and video, or they may concentrate entirely on stone sculpture or miniature painting, or combine a number of artistic approaches in explorations culminating in a shared polyphonic city walk. Twice annually — respectively for the months of April and November — , the Bibliothek Andreas Züst offers three studio residency stipends. The length of the stay can vary from one to four weeks according to the needs of the stipendiaries. Application for the Studio Residency Stipend is open to national and international cultural workers (individuals or teams of up to a maximum of four persons) across disciplines — visual arts, literature, new media, music, theatre, dance, design, architecture, film, photography, and art-related disciplines. Are welcomed works made by opera and theatre institutions, works created by festivals, or works created by individuals: the jury will appreciate a broad range of submissions that demonstrate new developments and dynamism. Special attention will be given to works, whose musical and theatrical vocabulary originates from outside of the Western European tradition. Arc Artist Residency (Switzerland) > Walk and Talk residency

A special characteristic of Arc is the wonderful landscape that surrounds it. As walking can be conducive to the discursive process, we want to regularly invite two persons for shorter residencies, to take long walks in the beautiful green surroundings together. Walk & Talk residencies are aimed at artists and other cultural practitioners who wish to discuss a certain question with an expert from another field.
