TESZT, the Euroregional Theatre Festival Timișoara, Romania is an international festival that has been organised annually since 2008. This year the organisers would like to broaden their selection process, thus together with the Csiky Gergely Hungarian State Theatre they have launched a call for applications for works within the field of theatre and performing arts. The organisers pay special attention to performances produced in the region (Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Bulgaria, etc.), to artistic projects that are aesthetically and/or content-wise intriguing and to emerging artists. Theatertreffen (Germany) > International Forum: Open Call 2018

This call is aimed at theatre makers up to the age of 35 from the fields of directing, acting, design, dramaturgy, writing, music, video, performance, choreography and other artistic disciplines. The International Forum is a 18 days scholarship programme organised by the Berliner Festspiele’s Theatertreffen and sponsors theatre makers from all parts of the world. The organisers are especially interested in hearing from artists whose work addresses socially relevant issues, outlines new narratives and perspectives and seeks to connect with traditional theatre forms with the aim of developing them further and looking for new aesthetic idioms. The Culture Initiative > Call for Artist Proposals from Eastern Europe and Central Asia (EECA), Amsterdam (The Netherlands)

The Culture Initiative is an art fund set up by AFEW International for artistic interventions preceding and during the 22nd International AIDS conference 2018 (AIDS 2018) in Amsterdam. The fund is looking for visual & performing artists from Eastern European and Central Asian Countries (EECA) to critically reflect on HIV/AIDS and its related topics (e.g. affected communities, stigma and discrimination, community health etc) and the relationship and dialogue between ‘The West and the East’ in tackling overarching global social and economic phenomena such as the HIV/AIDS crisis. The Culture Initiative invites five artists (visual/performing arts) for artist-residencies in Amsterdam in the months leading up to the conference (23-27 July 2018). Deadline: 5 December 2017.

Africa Centre is now accepting applications for its 2017 Artist In Residency (AIR) Programmes. They are offering residencies in Australia, Brazil, Spain, Italy and the United States. They are seeking high calibre African artists, in different stages of their development (from emerging to late career), who are provocative, innovative, and stretching the boundaries of their artistic practice. The residencies are available to composers, writers, video/filmmakers, curators, visual and performance artists as well as other forms, whose work is inspired by or relates to the challenges facing humanity. Are welcome visual art proposals from artists, collectives and collaborative groups. Festival Belluard Bollwerk International and Migros Culture Percentage (Switzerland) > Call for projects 'Solitude'

Selected projects will show either in the festival’s main venue - a medieval fortress - or in another appropriate venue. All forms of artistic expression will be considered. The more interdisciplinary the better! An international jury will select the projects that will receive a production grant of between CHF 2,000 and CHF 12,000.
