MOME Innovation Center, in partnership with responsible fashion brand Nanushka, has launched the Conscious Textile Group, a material R&D hub designed to explore innovative ways to use post-production textiles in a circular manner.
The Conscious Textile Group will comprise international researchers, academics, students, and industry experts, all dedicated to advancing sustainable efforts in textile production and usage within the fashion industry. As part of this initiative, MOME and Nanushka invite researchers to apply to its new research fellowship programme focusing on textile waste minimisation.
The research fellowship is planned to last 12 months, during which fellows will receive financial and operational support to conduct their research. The research should aim to contribute to textile waste recycling and should capitalise on the design expertise available in the University’s community and industrial perspective from the Nanushka team.
Fellows will receive: a one-way airfare to Budapest and relocation assistance; access to campus office spaces, workshops, and tech equipment; possibility to qualify for equipment and material costs; and a monthly allowance based on prior qualifications.
Applicants must: hold an MA or MSc degree or equivalent in material science, design or any related fields; demonstrate a proven success record in textile recycling research including but not limited to sustainability, fiber-to-fiber recycling, fabrics R&D; be able to work independently; relocate to and be primarily based in Budapest for the duration of the programme.
