For its 12th edition, from 9 November to 1 December 2024, Le Mois de la Photo is launching a new call for projects in order to create a collective exhibition at the Ancien Musée de Peinture in Grenoble, the central location and host of the festival. A wider selection of artists identified by the jury will be offered to the edition’s partner locations, to make a route of exhibitions throughout the metropolis.
The theme of the 2024 is ‘transitions’. The intention is to express the complexity and diversity of experiences linked to the transitions that contemporary societies are undergoing. By exploring their different dimensions, the artists contribute to raising public awareness of these changes. They question, denounce, debate, make sensitive the world’s permanent metamorphosis, and invent new ways of seeing.
Dedicated to photography, this event is organised each year by La Maison de l’Image, an image education association located in Villeneuve de Grenoble since 1972. The winners commit to proceed with the hanging from 4 to 8 November 2024 and to be present at the opening on 9 November 2024 to discuss and meet the public.
The Maison de l’Image is committed to paying a 400 EUR public presentation fee; providing 500 EUR in production assistance, if the work has not already been produced; and covering travel and accommodation costs during assembly and opening, including the cross-border travel costs, as well as dismantling if necessary.
