The Hochschule für Gestaltung (HfG) Offenbach, supported by the Crespo Foundation and the Aventis Foundation, is offering an international residency programme at the Höchster Porzellan-Manufaktur (HPM), the second oldest porcelain manufactory in Germany, from 1 April to 31 July 2025.
‘RESIDENCY 3.0 exploring porcelain’ supports national and international artists and designers and offers them a free space to research, experiment and develop innovative concepts in working with porcelain and ceramics.
The programme is aimed at graduates of art colleges, academies or related educational institutions who have intensive experience with ceramic materials and would like to deepen their artistic or design practice, especially with porcelain.
The aim is to promote young artistic talent in the field of porcelain and to further develop the tradition of porcelain design in the context of materials research. New concepts of form, material and design can be explored and developed through experimental work with porcelain.
The residency provides the following:
- Guest studio at the Höchster Porzellan-Manufaktur in Frankfurt-Höchst
- Provision of a room in the residency guest apartment in Offenbach
- Funding for artistic work: 1,000 EUR per month
- ‘Deutschlandticket’
- Material for work: up to 500 EUR
- Travel expenses: costs of travel to and from Offenbach covered on application (max. 1,500 EUR)
- Exhibition: assumption of costs by arrangement
- Documentation of the creative positions (in photography, film, catalogue, etc.): Costs covered by arrangement
- Transfer programme workshop, lecture: reimbursement of expenses by arrangement
- Participation in the national and international networking of the HfG
- Participation in the life of the art academy and research opportunities in the context of the HfG (library, research platforms and institutions)
