Forecast has announced their call for ideas for the 10th edition of Forecast Mentorships. Artistic practitioners and cultural producers working in all creative fields, anywhere in the world, are encouraged to apply to Forecast’s international mentorship programme with projects that could benefit from the expertise of one of this edition’s mentors and their unique approach to material and knowledge production.
The mentors for this edition are: fashion designer Hussein Chalayan (Cyprus/UK), vocalist and composer Elaine Mitchener (UK), performer and theater-maker Lulu Obermayer (Germany), artist and filmmaker Ruth Patir (Israel), video and installation artist James Richards (UK), and electronic musician Sote (Iran/USA).
The selection process is two-tiered. First, the mentors select three nominated concepts each. The 18 nominees—three in each field—are invited to Berlin to discuss their ideas and present them at Radialsystem during the Forecast Forum taking place 14–20 July 2025. Following the Forum, each mentor will select one concept to accompany to its realisation over the following months. The outcomes of these collaborations will then be presented at the Forecast Festival, taking place at Radialsystem, Berlin, 16–21 March 2026.
Selected participants at the Forecast Forum in July 2025 receive a fee of 2,000 EUR, which includes the production cost of the presentation, as well as travel and accommodation (for duos and collectives only one person’s travel and accommodation is covered). The six artists selected for the next stage each receive an artist fee of 6,000 EUR and a production budget for realising the project, up to a maximum of 8,000 EUR.
