Collective Moves labs open up a new paradigm of working, by bringing art, artists, people and place into contact with combined arts co-creation. Creatives from different countries will come together to play and co-create explorative site-specific performance or immersive installation for a public showcase.
The labs are a sharing supportive space to play creatively and push boundaries of what is and isn’t possible. They provide the opportunity to found new working relationships with other artists like you from other countries, and to build new skills. So that you can access the resources, expertise and support network to realise your creative ambitions.
Participants will work across a range of art forms informed by the art piece being co-created. This can include aerial movement, physical theatre, clowning, music and percussion, puppetry, sound, structural making, video (mapping), backstage. You will also get the opportunity to work with the local community from the host city in co-creating your production.
Between 2021 and 2023 there will be 5 Collective Moves labs online and face-to-face in 5 European towns or cities. Each location is committed to supporting its artists cultural ecosystem and ambition. Each lab has 18 places available and priority is given to creatives from or connected to Liverpool (Bootle), Gothenburg, Bad Ischl, Turku, Veszprém, Magdeburg, and/or Limerick.
International artists visiting a host city for in-person labs will be given shared accommodation and flights.
