CastCeramics: Residency and Workshops in Ceramics 2025 (Austria, Poland, Italy)

Title of the call with geometric shapes.

CastCeramics is a collaborative initiative between three organisations (IRARU – Austria, Mozi – Poland, and CAFI APS – Italy) to reimagine ceramic art by combining traditional craftsmanship with modern digital techniques.

The 12 selected participants (four from each country – Italy, Austria, and Poland) will embark on a one-month journey across these three countries, taking part in specialised workshops hosted by each organisation. The locations are Montepulciano (Italy), Vienna (Austria), and Gdynia (Poland) and the period is from 31 August to 30 September 2025.

Visual artists based in Austria, Poland, and Italy, with a particular focus on those interested in ceramics can apply. The programme prioritises artists facing fewer opportunities, including migrants, refugees, and living in rural or remote areas, as well as young artists from disadvantaged or marginalised backgrounds, who face economic and social barriers. They encourage refugees from Ukraine to apply, but not only.

The programme also engages applications from artists and craftspeople from other disciplines who are interested in ceramics or 3D printing technology. The project also extends to participants who are not artists but have a genuine interest (and knowledge) in ceramics.

Three exhibitions will take place in Italy, Austria, and Poland to showcase participants’ artworks. Each artist’s work will be reproduced in three copies for display across all locations, with the original artworks retained by the organising institutions.

The programme is a fully funded residency and it includes travel, accommodation, materials, and a stipend of 875 EUR.
