Kaninchenhaus, in collaboration with Capotrave/Kilowatt, Cooperativa Il Punto scs, Torino Città per le Donne promotes the new international call open to artists/authors/creators active in any discipline, to participate in a new residency programme in Turin, Italy.
Artists are called to propose collective creation paths aimed at specific groups of beneficiaries (young residents of the neighbourhood, young artists, students, women’s groups, young migrants, young people with disabilities, etc.). Such paths must be aimed at the creation of public works of art (made using any medium or discipline) dedicated and donated to the neighbourhood, including public or private spaces as long as they are accessible (for example: open-air spaces, gardens, markets, clubs, shops, associations, museums, shared living spaces, etc.).
In leading the workshops, each artist will be supported by a cultural mediator or an educator, depending on the community of participants involved. Participants in these courses will not only live an experience of non-formal education but will become co-authors and co-creators of a work that will remain in the public space of their neighbourhood.
The residency program will be divided into three phases:
- Collective three-day residency/Masterclass/May 2025 at Borealis
- Three periods of individual residency of approximately one month (which will host two projects at a time) from May to November 2025 at viadellafucina16 Condominio-Museo
- Final Festival in late 2026, during which the results of the entire process will be presented
The call is open to artists active in any discipline who have a previous exhibition path and previous experience in the field of participatory artistic practices. A total of six projects will be selected to access the residency programme.
Support includes a fee of 1,600 EUR, coverage of the production costs of the work, hospitality at viadellafucina16 condominium-museum (independent accommodation), workspace and for conducting workshops, and in special cases a partial or total reimbursement of travel costs will be assessed.
