subnet Salzburg / Salzamt Linz > Residencies During the Conference on ‘Tangible Embedded and Embodied Interfaces’ (Austria)
Subnet Salzburg and Salzamt Linz are organising two funded artist residencies four weeks before and during the Conference on Tangible Embedded and Embodied Interfaces (TEI) (4-7 February 2021) to promote artistic research methods within the TEI community. This residency programme offers the opportunity to develop and adapt existing artworks specifically for TEI2021 during an extended stay in Salzburg or Linz for four weeks before the conference. The residencies will seek interactive artworks and performances that articulate and provoke alternative points of view to facilitate the discussion on the TEI theme ‘Tangible interaction design’.
These may include, but are not limited to, the following topics:
Artistic perspectives and critiques of human-machine interaction.
Survey of established forms of digital-physical interactions.
Experimental materialities and speculative science.
Multimodal experiences that stimulate all human senses.
Embodiment of digital data and presentation of critical data.
Physical manifestations of artistic research methods.
Breaking socio-technical constraints through cultural diversity.
The organisers provide a €1000 stipend for at least 4 weeks of attendance in Salzburg or Linz, as well as accommodation and workspace. Residencies are expected to take place 5 January - 7 February 2021.
Deadline: 9 October 2020
