Moritzburg Festival Academy for Young Musicians (Germany)

Launched in 2006, the Moritzburg Festival Academy is an annual event that selects young musicians from all over the world to participate in an intensive training programme and form the international Moritzburg Festival Orchestra. All participants benefit from a full scholarship and from the guidance of internationally renowned festival soloists. The 2020 edition will take place 2-16 August 2020 at Moritzburg Castle in Germany.

For participants, Moritzburg Festival Academy will provide:

  • Full board and accommodation.

  • Free individual coaching of Moritzburg Festival Artists.

  • All music.

  • Reimbursement of travel costs up to a maximum of €100 for those travelling from Germany; €150 for Austria, Czech Republic, Poland; €250 for remaining European Countries; and €500 for non-European Countries.

The Academy is open to music students aged between 16 and 26 years in the following instrument groups: Strings; Woodwinds and Brass (except Tuba); Timpani (only for orchestra); and Piano (for chamber music only).
