Co-production platform East Asia-Germany: Performing Arts in the Digital Age
The Co-Production Platform East Asia – Germany is a laboratory where performing arts practitioners from East Asia and Germany are meeting for 5 days to share about their artistic practices and to work on ideas for co-productions. Ideally, potential cooperation partners will subsequently develop their draft into an application for the International Co-Production Fund of the Goethe-Institut (ICF) and other funding bodies, in order to realize their project.
The lab is conceived for co-production projects with participants from Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, Korea and Germany.
The aim of the Co-Production Platform is to bring potential partners together who are interested in co-production. Strengthening regional networks and encouraging collaboration are appreciated as “good byproducts”, but the Co-Production Platform is aiming at a stronger commitment of the participants from the start on and at a more concrete outcome.
The focus is on performing arts in the digital age.
Target group / participants:
Artistic directors of institutions in the field of performing arts
Freelance performance artists, independent performance makers
Good communication skills in English are required, experience in international collaboration (workshops, festivals) is welcome.
The participants will be selected by a board of theatre and performance experts from East Asia and Germany. The announcements will be made in February 2020. For the selection of the participants from Germany, the specific interests of the Asian participants with regard to desired co-production projects will be taken into account. Travel costs will be covered, accommodation and per diem is provided. The Co-Production Platform is a collaboration of Goethe-Institut and West Kowloon Cultural District Authority – Artistic Development (Theatre).
